Install PhotoCraft on macOS and Windows

PhotoCraft is free. Download it only from the official PhotoCraft page or the GitHub releases page.

Option 1: ArtCraft Launcher

The Launcher is the route the PhotoCraft team recommends. It installs PhotoCraft and the other ArtCraft apps, picks the right build for your computer and applies updates.

1. Open the official PhotoCraft page and choose Download Launcher.
2. Install and open the Launcher.
3. Install PhotoCraft from the list of apps.

Option 2: standalone installer

macOS

1. Download photocraft-0.7.0-macos-universal.dmg. One file covers Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
2. Open the disk image and drag PhotoCraft into Applications.
3. Launch it from Applications. The app is signed and notarized.

A headless command-line tool is published separately as photocraft-cli-0.7.0-macos-universal.zip. You can confirm that macOS accepts it:

spctl --assess --type install -vv photocraft-cli-0.7.0-macos-universal/photocraft-cli

Windows

Run the .msi and follow the installer, or unzip the portable build anywhere and start PhotoCraft from that folder.

Verify the download

Every release includes SHA256SUMS.txt. Compute the checksum of your file and compare it with the matching line.

# macOS

# Windows PowerShell
Get-FileHash photocraft-0.7.0-windows-x64.msi -Algorithm SHA256

If the values differ, delete the file and download it again from the official release.

Updating

With the Launcher, updates are offered inside it. With a standalone install, download the next release and install it over the old one. Installing the Launcher later will detect an existing PhotoCraft and take over updates.
